Power of Higher Intellect

In one of her talks, BK Usha Behn ji mentioned about two sources of  Power of Gyaan. One is the inner source and the other, the outer source. The inner source is inherent one that lies deep in our consciousness, but not easily accessible due to several layers of, shall we say debris covering it; such as our attachments, our different beliefs based on our past experiences and also the sanskars which we ourselves are not quite aware of. The outer source which lies hidden behind the Sun is again invisible to our physical eyes. This is seen only through the third eye. Spiritual awakening is possible only when we have access to these two sources of Higher Intellect. In case of the first, layers of debris covering that Inner Light have to be taken away, while in case of the second, where one has to open the third eye, one must quieten the mind and keep it focused. Then the obvious solution for both is through Raj Yoga, in which one trains the mind to be detached from Maya's temptations, together with serious meditation  to silence the mind and keep it focused on the third eye.

Positive Vibrations

Just a short while ago I read a message of Janki Dadiji, which worked like a booster for me. I realized what an ocean of love she is. She takes responsibility for spreading Positive Vibrations wherever she goes in the world.  It is like irrigating a land that is parched and crying for a few drops of water, giving hope and encouragement to someone disillusioned with life, giving a 56 bhog thali to someone who has not seen a square meal in days. Such is the magic in her words loaded with love which can only originate from the heart of a Saint. She says don't take to heart any harsh words of  people, but take courage even if someone defames you, because she knows what qualities each person has  She advises each of us not to get trapped in the negativities of this world, and instead carry on with the good work that you feel you ought to be doing. What beautiful thoughts!  Om Shanti !!!

Keeping Away from Waste Thoughts

There is no shortage in Maya's bundle of tricks to attract your Mann, Buddhi and Sanskars towards the wasteful thoughts called Vyartha.  Vyartha distracts the Purusharthi from his path and eats into his useful time. In these modern times, what arrived as a great facility such as a Mobile phone, even that, has gradually turned into a subtle agent of Maya. One needs to be firm in use of these type of gadgets, by saying: 'I shall make use of it to the extent that is right for a Purusharthi and no more.'  If you can overcome these temptations, the next step is, when past memories start to run amock in your mind,. practice using Bindi, a pucca  fullstop on those thoughts and memories. And if any of your past events seem to repeat in your life, you can dismiss them from weighing on your mind by repeating  ':Nothing New '. Soon you will find yourself free from all those waste thoughts.

Hero of Mahabharat - Arjun

In his Epic, Veda Vyas has described Arjun as the hero of Mahabharat. What he saw in his hero, were certain special qualities as mentioned by BK Savita Behn in one of her talks. These virtues made Arjun a formidable warrior, someone we all can try to emulate.  1)Sahan Shakti, Endurance Power  2)Parivartan Shakti, changing the focus from self to universe  3)Contemplation on Spiritual Knowledge  4)Introspection and endeavouring to rectify one's own faults  5)Shanti, internalising and silencing the mind  6)Bindi Lagana, putting a full-stop on all fantasizing  7) Freeing oneself from Karma Bandhan, control over old Sanskars coming-up  8)Sanghatan Shakti, power of motivating people to co-operate.  For any person to cultivate all these qualities requires that the person should have strength of character, integrity, sense of direction and above all a genuine capacity to allow space to other people. These qualities made Arjun a dear friend of the Lord.

Raj Yoga the Key To Balanced Life

Raj Yoga is predominantly about training the mind and living a balanced life. In today's world, one is expected to be result oriented and there is a strong belief that' If you are not One-up, you are One-down.' There is peer pressure, boss's pressure and above all, society's expectations, all of which are shifting from the old Indian Satopradhan  nature to a highly Rajopradhan materialistic life-style.Old Indian lifestyle is now redundant, because the society is getting more and more competitive. Now who would like to be left behind ?  But then, if one wants to go all out for it, there is a risk of  loosing one's peace of mind. This is why many people  are now seen taking solace from Yoga and Meditation. Some 60 years back Intelligence Quotient -I. Q. for short, was all important. But in the recent past, people have discovered that Emotional Quotient E. Q. is also of equal value, if not more.To be realistic, both are required in proper balance. The Brain has two hemispheres, the Left and the Right. The function of Left is mostly analytical and mathematical , while that of Right hemisphere is to synthesize, innovate and bring about a wise decision. All through our educational life, we learnt mostly to use the Left Brain to improve I.Q. With meditation and an overall training in Raj Yoga one learns to use the Right Brain so as to develop E.Q.  This way you bring balance into your life.

Quality of Meditation for Teevra Purushartha

In the ultimate analysis, one finds that unless you do full justice to your daily meditation, you will never feel satisfied. Meditation which we call Yog depends on many factors. Firstly your Gyan  and how much love and closeness  you have developed for Shiv Baba. Then comes the stillness of body. It may not look very important to some, but imagine yourself  having joint pain and you are not able to sit in one position for long, your mind will wander from one joint to another. If you get over this hurdle, there comes the problem of how to keep the mind silent. Mind is known to produce something like 86000 thoughts in a day or more. The fine tuning of mind is a major part of this training process. First you have to improve the quality of thoughts. If the thoughts are of coarse nature their tendency to chatter is more. Finer quality will facilitate in making the thought process smoother. Then you can with some effort reduce their speed and gradually introduce space between the two thoughts. With practice then you have to increase this spacing more and more. It is this space between two thoughts that produce moments of silence. More inner silence you have better will be the quality of your Meditation.

Chintan ki Dhaara

Apni Chintan ki Dhaara badal Do,  is a song urging us to change the direction of our thinking. Our mind is by nature volatile and it moves in a linear movement, only in the direction in which his master has initially taught him and drilled him into. Mind becomes so rigid at this point of time, that no matter how much effort someone else makes, he will want to stick to his old original training. Changing the way the mind should start thinking is an awfully difficult task.To change his direction, you have to be not only a better trainer, but one who has lots of  patience, perseverance and also willingness to do some laborious work added to that. The method suggested in Raj Yoga is that one must make a determined effort to remember Shiv Baba all the time or at least at certain specified time such as at 4.00 a.m. and again at bed time. By doing this, the mind now understands that the master does not want that he should follow the old programme any more, and perhaps a little reluctantly and gradually will abide by the new programme. The Raj Yoga practitioner will know by experience how beneficial this is .Your mind, your consciousness saturated with remembrance of Baba will fill you completely with positivity. You will feel so much lighter and full of exuberance as you have never experienced before.

Manmana Bhava

Manmana Bhava is a very important message. It is said 'One must remember Alif and make as many people remember Alif '. This is considered our topmost obligation and in a lighter vein was called the wholesale business, everything else being retail. By remembering Alif  i.e. Paramatma constantly, one fills up the consciousness with positivity, and then by convincing others of its value you prepare a strong reservoir to protect it from leakages. And yet, as you know Maya has her own ways of making inroads to see that there are leakages. Maya is known to be all negativity. The primary channel she uses is our own negative thinking, consisting of  regrets of past suffering, burden of present responsibilities and anxiety for the future. As we know well that there is no way to control these to any great extent, because we are committed to our role in the world drama. The other channel of her's is also our weaknesses like Kama, Krodha, Moha etc. Only by building a strong  Positive Reservoir through process of  Manmana Bhava can we win the battle against Maya. We will discuss this in detail later, but meantime it will be worthwhile if you contemplate on this subject.

One World, One Family, One God

If this is the principle on which our Brahmakumaris institute is founded, it is simply because of one reason and that is, we all are without any exception, Children of One Paramatma that is ShivBaba. Now that is one aspect.  Second aspect is whether the person is actually following the Shrimat or not, which eventually decides whether he or she can be said to belong to Brahman Parivar or more specifically whether he is entitled to be graded as one of  Brahma Mukha Vanshavali.  When you start grading people on this basis, it is also important for those giving marks to be completely free of any bias. One who judges people should himself make sure through serious introspection, whether he is in the habit of using different filters for different people.  In any case, one need not pass any judgement, unless he or she can further guide the person involved and mend the habits of the person involved. To pass a judgement involves lot of responsibility and such work should not be undertaken by a person of average ability.  In conclusion, we should be more generous in our attitude of One World, One Family, One God.  A good healthy positive attitude, with a sprinkling of love and kindness is needed to spread. a vibration that welcomes people rather than deflect them.

How one becomes a Lighthouse

When one becomes free from desires, avarice and disproportionate ambitions, it shows in the behavior and interactions of that person with the people in his contact. One must know what has brought about this change of attitude and behavior?  It shows that this person has understood the difference between benevolent action, neutral action and sinful action and after clear understanding, has decided to perform only elevated actions. While performing actions, he seems to have maintained a balance of heart and head i.e.his emotions and thoughts, because balance increases the level of his success. But most important of all, he has to be like an ocean of love and peace, because without it,one cannot give space to others. You may have the Gyan- the Light of spiritual knowledge and you could have acquired Siddhis - the Might, but without becoming Satopradhan, by erasing the doubts and tribulations of your past miseries and then successfully replacing them with constant memory of Baba, you cannot become a beacon of ' Light and Might', giving Drishti and Sakash to people, effectively. Only one who has reached complete Satopradhan State can be said to be qualified to have this Double Crown.
